Jackie Fraser – Hypnotherapist

Picky Eaters

Picky Eating is quite common during childhood and involves avoidance of certain foods, often vegetables as well as having very clear preferences for certain foods.

Picky Eaters can function normally in social events which involve food, usually being able to find a food that they enjoy. They do not necessarily experience anxiety leading up to or during the event.

A Picky eater’s food choice is usually driven by preference rather than fear and they may take great interest in the foods they enjoy.

A Picky eater can usually be bribed or cajoled into trying something new if the bribe is interesting enough.

Picky Eating children will likely outgrow this phase.

  • Imagine leaving behind the fear of choking or gagging and instead experiencing a sense of calm and assurance while eating.

  • What would it be like if you could attend a social event with a new found sense of freedom and joy, knowing that you are capable of enjoying yourself without any anxiety about food.

  • Imagine effortlessly shifting from being afraid to try new foods to embracing the liberating freedom of choice, discovering the joy in different flavours and tastes.

  • What would it be like if you could break free from the restrictions and let your palate guide you to new and enriching experiences, finding that avoiding certain textures becomes a thing of the past, replaced by a sense of curiosity and adventure.

My daughter has had ARFID since she was 4 years old, she is now 15. We live in Denver North Carolina. We have tried all kinds of therapists and my daughter is desperate to find a cure.

Recently, we discovered hypnotherapy treatment. i was very skeptical but at this point, we had tried everything and were desperate.

I am so thankful we did !! Thanks to Jackie Fraser my daughter can now try new foods without panic attacks or gagging !! I really can’t believe it honestly.

Before yesterday she had a very bland diet with only about 10 items. Since the therapy session yesterday she has tried bacon, a boiled egg, nachos, a taco, a salad, a turkey sandwich and a strawberry.

No fear, and no hesitation when trying.

I honestly can’t thank you enough for changing my life. I do not have the words to describe how much it has meant to me and my family.

I have tried over 30 foods and added 8 of them permanently onto my safe food list. I can pick up a forkful of something completely new and have the right frame of mind to not only put it in my mouth but also chew it without gagging, and swallow it no problem at all, even if I don’t really like the taste.

Hi Jackie.
First I would like to thank you for working with us.

We came to see Jackie with our boy that has ARFID. We were there in October and had our session. Jackie talked to our boy to get to know him and did trust exercises until he felt that she wasn’t a stranger anymore.

He was relaxed through the hypnotherapy and seemed excited for the bit that came next. When it was time to try the different foods he had chosen he was not scared and he tried them all without being anxious or showing signs of panic.

He tried all the food with ease and fell completely in love with oranges!

He still have setbacks but Jackie made us a sound recording that he listens to once a week (sometimes more) and he comes back to the place where he isn’t panicking when he tries new things.

It might seem like baby steps for others but for us it is huge leaps!!!
Thank you again Jackie!

Hi Jackie, yeah doing good thanks and still enjoying new tastes.

I made chilli on Sat…..loved it !!!! (Had to leave the kidney beans tho).

It’s so nice being able to eat as a family rather than me having a separate dish.

I saw Jackie last week to help with my food avoidance issues and came away feeling really positive. As a long term fussy eater I was delighted to try things I’ve always avoided and I’m delighted with the results!

Hey Jackie, just wanted to give you an update:

I’ve now had 25 things that I either couldn’t eat before or couldn’t even touch. I’ve even been able to go to a cafe. Before I could only order chips but I had a proper lunch.

Those around me have said they see a massive difference in me and that I seem so much happier.

Thank You so much.

Hi Jackie, Just wanted to let you know that for lunch I managed to add cheese to my marmite sandwich .. and toasted it – liked it ! Now I can eat out at Costa with my daughter ! Made my son a fruit salad for dessert and managed to join him with eating grapes, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries !

The raspberries came back out but was under control and on my terms.

I’m so happy Thanks.

Hi Jackie, It’s been 4 weeks since our ARFID session. Wanted to say thank you again for your help, it really has been amazing. I am making progress with my eating habits and have tried so many new things without feeling fear (Even the things I didn’t like, was still okay and didn’t panic!!) I’m slowly introducing new things into my diet and look forward to seeing where this will go.

Thank you so much.

Thank you for the session yesterday. When I got home tried some more fruit. Am planning on going to a restaurant soon and am very excited to do so.

Purchased some vegetable stuff to make a stir fry as that’s one meal I have been wanting to try for a while. Am very thankful for your help and I will keep you updated on how I get on.

The next day I was at a Chinese Buffet restaurant trying lots of new things.

Totally recommend this for people who have this and are fed up being called fussy eaters.

There is help out there. . Go see Jackie

The best thing my daughter did. At 19 years old she can now try and eat food ! As a family we are no longer restricted to where we eat and what we cook.,

Thank you so much Jackie you have changed all of our lives.

Since seeing you what a change in ****. At his own pace he is now trying a variety of new foods. We even managed to go out as a family to a restaurant, which has never happened before.

As a bonus my little girl has now started to try new foods as she sees her brother doing it.

Bit of a competition, she’s even got her own food chart like her brother too.

Many thanks again for your help and educating myself in what the problem was. I’ve spent years being referred to many different health professionals; none of which has helped us as much as you.
